FREE PAPER, POSTERS & VIDEO PRESENTATIONS

Participants are requested to submit abstracts online to the Congress Secretariat from Monday, SEPTEMBER 5, 2011 until Thursday, NOVEMBER 3, 2011, 12:00 CET+1. Please note that abstracts can only be submitted online.

Authors can submit up to 3 abstracts. During the submission process, authors may indicate their preferred presentation type (free paper, poster or video presentation). The final decision in regards to the presentation type, however, will be taken by the Scientific Committee.

Abstracts will be approved according to their scientific/clinical merit and should be based on previously unpublished data. Abstracts may be submitted in English only. Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author to present at the Congress if accepted.

Abstract acceptance and programme scheduling will be communicated to the submitting author’s e-mail address. Hard copies of abstracts will not be accepted.

Please make sure that special characters and symbols are inserted correctly through the toolbar provided.

Authors will be able to draft the abstracts online and may return to the site to edit the texts of the abstracts if necessary. Authors are free to finalize their texts and submit their abstracts at any time before Thursday, NOVEMBER 3, 2011, 12:00 CET+1. No changes can be made after this deadline.

Best oral and best posters awards will be presented in the closing ceremony. Award winners have to be present to receive the prize. All accepted posters will be accessible to the delegates in the poster exhibition area. Selected posters will be presented in the poster sessions. Modalities will be sent in case of poster acceptance.

A highly qualified international panel of reviewers will assess all submitted abstracts.
Notification of acceptance and information regarding presentations will be forwarded to the submitters immediately after the reviewing process by e-mail (approximately mid of January). If your abstract is accepted it is mandatory for the presenter to present the abstract at the congress. For your abstract to be included in the final scientific programme, it is mandatory to register for the congress and to settle payment as soon as you have received the notification of abstract acceptance but not later than Monday, FEBRUARY 20, 2012, 12:00 CET+1.

By submitting an abstract, copyrights are transmitted automatically to the European Society of Trauma and Emergency Surgery.

Abstracts will be published in a supplement of the European Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery as they have been received.
